About the Role

Cobalt Consulting (UK) Ltd is partnering with a global, Tier 1 contractor renowned for driving innovative infrastructure that supports communities and promotes sustainable development for future generations.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing and Senior Estimators to develop estimates based on first principles for civil components of complex, multi-discipline highways projects across various stages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates in alignment with company policies and standards, ensuring all financial information and compliant design proposals are complete.
  • Evaluate design options and 'value' solutions to identify project feasibility using core estimating principles, collaborating with project teams and the supply chain to gain a thorough understanding of proposed methodologies and principles.
  • Document assumptions, pinpoint risks and opportunities, and assist in developing risk assessments from a budgetary perspective, setting and agreeing on key rates with engineering and planning teams to finalize key methodologies and equipment selection.
  • Perform detailed reviews of subcontractor proposals, examining tender documents and ensuring all financial information and compliant design proposals are complete.
Working Arrangements

Cobalt Consulting (UK) Ltd offers a flexible hybrid working model, requiring a minimum of three days in the office. Office locations include Dartford, Leatherhead, and South Mimms, and the location can be flexible to accommodate your preference.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in estimating, with a commercial or operational background considered an advantage. Proficiency in Candy Estimating Software is beneficial but not essential.

A strong financial acumen with attention to detail in analyzing complex data and documentation is essential, as well as proficiency in general IT applications, particularly Word and Excel.
