About the Role

Cobalt Consulting (UK) Ltd is partnering with a global, Tier 1 contractor renowned for driving innovative infrastructure projects that support communities and promote sustainable development. We are seeking an Estimator to join their dynamic commercial team, contributing to high-impact highways projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates in alignment with company policies and standards, working closely with the Managing and Senior Estimators.
  • Evaluate design options and identify project feasibility using core estimating principles, considering financial information and compliant design proposals.
  • Document assumptions, pinpoint risks and opportunities, and assist in developing risk assessments from a budgetary perspective, collaborating with project teams and the supply chain.
  • Examine tender documents, ensuring all financial information and compliant design proposals are complete, and set and agree on key rates with engineering and planning teams.

Working Arrangements

Our client offers a flexible hybrid working model, requiring a minimum of three days in the office. Office locations include Dartford, Leatherhead, and South Mimms, and the location can be flexible to accommodate your preference. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in estimating, with a commercial or operational background considered an advantage. Proficiency in Candy Estimating Software is beneficial but not essential. Strong financial acumen and attention to detail in analyzing complex data and documentation are required. Proficient in general IT applications, particularly Word and Excel.
