About the Job

This is a challenging role that requires strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, financial reporting, and compliance with financial regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Town Clerk and provide guidance to Councillors on financial strategy and governance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and manage the Council's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and compliance.
  • Oversee financial reporting, providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  • Manage payroll and ensure adherence to financial regulations.

To be successful in this role, you will need an accountancy qualification, strong knowledge of accounting procedures, and experience in team management and working with organisational leaders. You should also be proactive, highly organised, and able to manage contracts and procurement processes.
