About the Role

As an Electrical Instrumentation Specialist, you will be working with a team of highly skilled professionals to assemble and test high-quality vacuum instruments. This exciting opportunity is available in a commercially driven scientific instrument manufacturing company based in Lewes, East Sussex.

The successful candidate must have a sound electro-mechanical assembly and test background, with experience gained within an electro-mechanical system build manufacturing business. A good level of education evidenced by O-level/ GCSE passes or equivalent in English, Maths, and one Science subject is also required.

Key responsibilities include assembling high-quality vacuum instruments from kits of parts, repairing product, and occasionally installing customer-owned instruments at customers' sites. The role also involves testing and calibration of finished products, as well as occasional travel once relevant product knowledge and experience have been gained.

A good understanding of the principles of vacuum engineering, electrical test experience, and hands-on mechanical assembly of machined precision engineered parts are essential skills for this position. Excellent written and oral communication skills, planning and organising skills, time management capabilities, and strong motivation are also required.
