Job Overview
Vacgen Ltd is a leading manufacturer of ultra-high vacuum (UHV) technology, supporting cutting-edge research worldwide. We are currently seeking an experienced Assembly and Testing Specialist to join our team in Hailsham.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in assembling and testing complex systems. The role will involve working on precision instruments that utilize electron optics and ion optics principles, ensuring high-quality products meet the required standards.

Responsibilities
- Assemble and test UHV compatible devices and instrumentation
- Maintain UHV cleanroom process standards for all in-vacuum component parts and sub-assemblies
- Support transition of new hardware from NPI through to routine production, including writing manufacturing information documents and guides
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain departmental records, particularly test data, quality control information, and serial numbering of instruments

Requirements
- Relevant engineering degree (HND/HNC) or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with low-volume customized product manufacturing environments
- Previous experience in high-technology manufacturing environments or cleanrooms preferred
- Strong mechanical engineering skills, with attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines
