About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for building high-quality scientific instruments, utilising your expertise in electro-mechanical assembly and test techniques. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of vacuum engineering principles and be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build high-quality scientific instruments from kits of parts, adhering to drawing specifications and quality standards.
  • Responsible for all aspects of instrument build, including final inspection and testing upon completion.
  • Conduct thorough testing and calibration of finished products to ensure optimal performance.

Occasional travel may be required once relevant product knowledge and experience have been gained.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • A good general level of education, evidenced by O-level/GCSE passes or equivalent in English, Maths, and one Science subject.
  • At least significant demonstrable experience in a relevant occupation, or HNC/HND in a mechanical or electrical subject with relevant working experience.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £42,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including opportunities for professional development and career advancement.

This role is based in a rural location, and own transport is essential. The successful candidate must be able to work in a modern team-based culture with minimal direction, demonstrating strong time management and prioritisation capabilities.
