Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Services Manager to join our team at RGB Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the building services element from construction, commissioning through to handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Review the tender information and determine the scope and extent of all remaining design work, prior to the tender start-up meeting.
  • Design Verification: Verify that the existing tender (design) information is compliant, coordinated, affordable (within the existing budget) and buildable prior to the tender settlement meeting.
  • Design Strategy: Determine, in conjunction with the bid team, the strategy for the completion of all remaining design work.
  • Design Team Management: Assess/audit all novated design team members and if applicable, negotiate any additional services.
  • Fee Enquiries: Prepare and issue fee enquiries for supplementary design team members.
  • Design Development: Develop, in conjunction with the design team, competitive, technically robust design and engineering solutions.
  • Subcontractor Engagement: Engage with specialist subcontractors to develop innovative design solutions and close out design interfaces.
  • Design Submission: Manage the submission and timely approval of all reviewable design data.
  • Commercial and Technical Review: Assist in the commercial and technical review of specialist subcontract tender returns, establish interfaces and review alternative design.
  • Technical Submissions: Prepare technical submissions for alternative designs, system, component, product and/or material proposals for client approval.
  • Quality Management: Establish quality benchmarks, review regularly and undertake final acceptance.
  • Utility Installation: Manage the installation of utilities.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience covering design, construction and commissioning stages of complex projects.
  • Technical Expertise: A high level of technical expertise in MEP services including process engineering.
  • Software Skills: Experienced at working in 3D and with off-site manufacturing approaches. Competent in the use of 4Projects or similar Common Data Environment. Knowledge of software including AutoCAD and BIM.
  • Education: HNC or above in a building services/construction-related field.
  • Driving License: A full UK driving license.
