About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Substance Misuse Specialist to join our team in Aylesbury.

As a Substance Misuse Specialist, you will work with individuals who are struggling with addiction, providing them with the support and guidance they need to overcome their challenges. You will engage people in various interventions, using a person-centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). They will also be an energetic and confident self-starter, able to liaise with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals, and engage effectively with clients in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.
  • Develop and implement individualised support plans that address holistic needs across all aspects of the person's wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce reports as required.
