Job Title: Senior Development Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Development Leader to join our team at the Bank of England. As a key member of our Supervision Team, you will play a critical role in maintaining UK financial stability and interacting with various areas across the Bank.

About the Role

This is a leadership and people management position, reporting to the Team Lead. You will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for business model and credit risk, operational risk and resilience, governance and remuneration, and wider coverage of risk management and internal audit within the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the strategy for business model and credit risk, operational risk and resilience, governance and remuneration, and wider coverage of risk management and internal audit within the firm.
  • Contribute actively to the overall management and strategy of the team and to managing issues across the team as a whole.
  • Lead supervision teams, ensuring the effective delivery of forward-looking, risk-based, and judgment-led supervision.
  • Agree the annual strategy for individual firms, in line with the Supervisory Risk Framework.
  • Provide line management of direct reports and leadership for a team of supervisors.
  • Maintain strong and effective working relationships with senior management of firms and other key stakeholders.
  • Recruit effectively, identify talent, and develop the wider team through coaching and communicating a clear vision.

Requirements
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to create and implement a shared vision, deliver outcomes through the work of others, and set an example through effective prioritisation.
  • Good judgement and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and articulate the prudential risks posed by a variety of banks and business models.
  • Effective influencing and stakeholder management, with the ability to maintain effective relationships even at times when those relationships may need to become adversarial.

What We Offer
