A well-respected specialist school near Reigate is seeking a Mental Health Support Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The students range between 10 and 16 years old, and face a range of social, emotional and mental health needs, and challenges including trauma, anxiety, OCD, and behavioural issues.
The ideal candidate will be dedicated to being a consistent role model, committed to building strong relationships, empathetic and up for a challenge. They must be open-minded, resilient, and knowledgeable about mental health. Experience with SEN children and/or adults in any setting is desirable. Graduates in Psychology, Criminology or Counselling would also be well-suited for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with SEMH needs
- Building strong relationships with students and staff
- Providing emotional support and guidance
- Assisting with lesson planning and delivery
Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check
- Overseas police check (if applicable)
