Do you have experience in property management and asset management?
As a Principal Surveyor, you will represent the Department's property interests on a complex portfolio of assets, providing effective management and strategic asset management advice on other assets and projects across the team and the Department.
You will work on various projects across the UK with a range of stakeholders, and you will have direct line management of one surveyor and matrix management of others by project assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Property Management
- Financial and risk management, lease negotiations, renewals, and consents, as well as commercial arrangements.
Asset Management
- Identifying and executing value-add opportunities, maximizing value, and reducing costs with a focus on financial performance and social benefits.
- Strategic asset management, negotiating complex lease structures, and considering long-term objectives and responsibilities.
Advisory
- Supporting the team to advise on land ownership structures, acting as an intelligent client on property management issues, and developing property strategy in line with Government policy.
- Managing and advising on cross-Group Property projects, providing assurances that Departmental objectives are met, and representing best value.
- Using strategic property expertise, estate management, landlord and tenant, and asset management experience to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Having strong stakeholder management and analytical skills, and an innovative and 'can-do' approach to solving problems.
- Understanding and compliance with Statutory, Regulatory, and Professional requirements, and using this to make effective decisions and deliver advice to senior leaders and stakeholders.
