About the RoleThe Chief Inspector will be responsible for leading a team of inspectors and supporting the development of a new independent education inspectorate. You will work closely with the Scottish Government, Education Scotland, and other stakeholders to ensure that our education system is of the highest quality and that our children and young people receive the best possible education.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of a new independent education inspectorate, working closely with the Scottish Government and Education Scotland.
- Develop and implement a new inspection framework, ensuring that it is robust, effective, and meets the needs of our education system.
- Provide expert advice to the Scottish Government and Education Scotland on education policy and practice, ensuring that our education system is of the highest quality.
- Work closely with schools, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure that our education system is delivering the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
- Develop and implement a strategy for improving education standards, working closely with the Scottish Government and Education Scotland.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A strong track record of leading and delivering improvements in education, with a focus on excellence and equity.
- Experience of working in a complex, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to analyze evidence and provide expert advice.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- A deep understanding of the Scottish education system, with a strong ability to develop and implement effective policies and practices.
