About the Deputy Manager Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at Little Angels nursery, part of the MiChild Group. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the nursery manager and team in delivering high-quality care and education to our children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the nursery manager on a daily basis to provide support and guidance to the team.
  • Work collaboratively with the nursery team to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery.
  • Make decisions on the day-to-day running of the nursery in the absence of the manager.
  • Follow all administrative procedures and ensure compliance with nursery policies and procedures.
  • Be a positive role model to other staff and provide support and guidance as needed.
  • Assist in the training and development of staff within the nursery.
  • Manage staffing levels and deploy staff as needed in the absence of the manager.
  • Attend meetings as part of the management team and contribute to decision-making.
  • Be flexible with shifts and work arrangements to ensure the nursery operates effectively.
Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in childcare or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and experience of working with children and families.
  • Extensive knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience of working in partnership with parents and outside agencies.
  • Previous experience as a room supervisor or deputy manager in a nursery environment.
  • Enthusiasm, professionalism, and creativity.
