We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Law Paralegal to join our team at Reed. As a Family Law Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our solicitors and clients in sensitive and complex family law cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist solicitors in the preparation of legal documents related to family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and support.
- Conduct legal research and draft memos on various family law issues.
- Manage case files and maintain organised and comprehensive case documentation.
- Liaise with clients, providing empathetic support and ensuring they are kept informed about the progress of their cases.
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and mediation sessions.
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as petitions, responses, affidavits, and briefs.
- Assist with the discovery process, including the collection, analysis, and organisation of evidence and documents.
Requirements:
- A degree in law or a related field, or equivalent experience as a paralegal.
- Previous experience in family law is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- A compassionate and professional demeanour.
- General office & Secretarial support when required.
