About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Consultant to join our team at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, managing acute gastroenterology and general level II hepatology, and conducting clinical gastroenterology and endoscopic investigations.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
- MRCP and Certification of Completion of Specialist Training
- Accreditation in general internal medicine and gastroenterology
- Excellent IT skills and computer literacy
- Experience in managing acute gastroenterology and general level II hepatology
- Skilled in clinical gastroenterology and endoscopic investigations
Desirable Criteria
The following qualifications and skills are desirable:
- NHS experience within the last 3 years
- Interest in the development of out-patient management of liver disease
- General ERCP skills and/or delivery
- Experience in service redesign
Teaching and Management
The successful candidate will also be responsible for:
- Teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates, and junior medical staff
- Competent in medical audit
- An understanding of the Health Service agenda for the next 10 years and corporate governance
Language and Personal Skills
The ideal candidate will be able to speak and write English to the appropriate standard necessary to fulfill the job requirements and possess:
- Team worker leadership qualities
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
