Job Title: Consultant Gastroenterologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases
  • Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with complex gastrointestinal and liver conditions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
Person Specification:
  • MRCP and Certification of Completion of Specialist Training
  • Accreditation in general internal medicine and gastroenterology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong leadership and management skills
Desirable Criteria:
  • NHS experience within the last 3 years
  • Interest in the development of out-patient management of liver disease
  • General ERCP skills and or delivery
  • Experience in service redesign
Teaching and Training:
  • Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates and junior medical staff
Management and Audit:
  • Competent in medical audit
  • An understanding of the Health Service agenda for the next 10 years and corporate governance
Research and Publications:
  • Good track record of publications in gastroenterology / hepatology or a related field
Language:
  • Able to speak and write English to the appropriate standard necessary to fulfil the job requirements
Personal Skills:
  • Team worker Leadership qualities
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
