**Job Title:** Public Policy Leader - Net Zero Transition

**Location:** London

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to take on the role of Chair at the Climate Change Committee. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of board leadership, achieving results and providing strategic vision to lead a high-profile public organisation at either an international or UK-wide level.

The Chair will be responsible for steering and developing the overall work of the Committee, while the Chief Executive manages the day-to-day running of the organisation. They must provide excellent vision and leadership, as well as represent the Committee externally and foster close working relationships with key experts, including academics, business, and foreign governments and intergovernmental institutions.

The estimated salary for this position is £1,000 per day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent and pragmatic advice to Ministers, elected representatives, and UK policymakers in the UK and Devolved Governments and/or internationally.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve the Committee's goals and objectives.
  • Foster close working relationships with key experts and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A strong track record of board leadership and experience in leading high-profile public organisations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, persuade, and influence.
  • An exceptional ability to communicate the importance of the net zero transition to a wide range of audiences.
