Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide laboratory support for undergraduate practical classes and occasional general technical support for the wider Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of reagents and equipment allocation for classes
  • Set out and clear away teaching materials and ensure equipment is in good working order
  • Provide general technical support for the benefit of all researchers within the Department
  • Support nominated research groups or a combination of both, as required
  • Help to support external events and outreach activities in the teaching labs
Requirements
  • Conscientious, accurate, and methodical approach with the ability to prioritize tasks and work to deadlines
  • Manual dexterity and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to function efficiently in a small team and multi-national groups
  • GCSE or equivalent in Chemistry and/or Biology (ideally)
  • Previous experience in a laboratory environment (advantageous)
