SRG is supporting a cutting-edge biotech start-up in Cambridge, UK, as they expand their in-house teams. Our client is developing a novel synthetic biology platform using CRISPR methodology to engineer iPSCs.
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join the Scientific Operations Team, ensuring the scientific facilities and equipment are operating safely and providing ongoing support to all scientific functions.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage inventory and supplies, including regular stock checks and notifications to scientists.
- Collaborate with the Head of Sci Ops to identify new products and alternatives when faced with shortages or supply constraints.
- Receive and process general deliveries, updating the online inventory system accordingly.
- Establish and maintain equipment calibration and lab cleaning/maintenance schedules.
- Ensure service records are up-to-date and filed correctly.
- Coordinate PAT testing and maintenance of equipment.
- Collect and process glassware for cleaning and autoclaving.
- Manage compressed gases and laundry supplies.
The ideal candidate will have a scientific background and experience in a laboratory support setting, with strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
