About the Role

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Strategy Officer to join their Transport Strategy and Policy Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of Local Plans and the Local Transport Plan to deliver transport infrastructure and meet the transport needs of the County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team in the development of transport and land use strategies, policies, and plans.
  • Conduct and manage significant research projects to collect and analyse evidence to inform decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including statutory, voluntary, private agencies, and communities.
  • Work closely with the Transport Strategy and Policy Team to deliver transport solutions that support the delivery of homes and jobs across the County.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A relevant qualification and/or demonstrable experience in transport planning and policy.
  • Significant experience in the development and delivery of transport and land use strategies, policies, and plans.
  • Effective and diplomatic liaison skills, with the ability to maintain effective partnerships and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of working to tight timescales to deliver projects and/or programmes on time, to quality, and cost.
  • A customer-focused approach, with the ability to deliver high-quality services to customers.
