About the Role

The Leicestershire County Council is seeking a skilled Transport Strategy Officer to lead the project management for the development and implementation of Local Transport Plan 4. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to join our Transport Strategy and Policy Team and contribute to the delivery of transport infrastructure to enable economic growth, support the delivery of new homes across the County, and meet the transport needs and requirements of our communities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a relevant qualification and/or demonstrable experience in the development and/or delivery of transport and land use strategies, policies, plans, associated evidence, and alignment with national planning and transport policy. You should also have experience of data interpretation and analysis to inform policy and strategy development or understand a development's transport impacts. Additionally, you will need to have excellent communication, presentation, and report writing skills, as well as a customer-focused approach where the customer experience is central to the delivery of the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Team Manager with the project management of the Local Transport Plan 4 project.
  • Develop transport evidence bases through the interpretation of data evidenced approach and analysis on integration of national planning and transport policy published by the Government.
  • Maintain effective partnerships and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including statutory, voluntary, private agencies, and communities.
  • Work to tight timescales to deliver projects and/or programmes on time, to quality, and cost.
