Electroconvulsive Therapy Specialist Nurse

The post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) services across the boroughs. They will provide clinical guidance to colleagues, lead and support junior staff, and ensure the service meets quality and safety standards.
Main Duties- Develop and maintain high standards of nursing care for patients undergoing ECT.
- Direct and oversee the provision of ECT services, ensuring safety and compliance with legal requirements.
- Provide expert clinical guidance and supervision to staff nurses and HCAs.
- Drive the development of evidence-based practice within the unit.
- Ensure equipment is regularly serviced and maintained.
- Develop and implement individual care programs.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities- Support senior staff in developing new ideas and strategies.
- Maintain and improve professional knowledge in line with post requirements.
- Participate in professional educational activities within the department.
- Stay up-to-date with Royal College of Psychiatrists' guidelines for ECT administration.
- Observe physical and philosophical requirements of the 1983 Mental Health Act.
- Participate in the ECT subgroup and contribute to its activities.
