Career Opportunity: Section Engineer

We are recruiting for a Section Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team at Jackson Civil Engineering. Our company culture is inclusive, fun, and supportive, with a focus on delivering high-quality projects that meet our clients' needs.

The main purpose of this role is to progress the construction process and assist in delivering the project. Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with site management to complete quality take-offs
  • Developing awareness of potential commercial opportunities and issues with the project
  • Completing hazard and risk assessments, and method statements
  • Carrying out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance with design and specification
  • Training, managing, and mentoring junior engineers
  • Managing sectional setting out requirements on site
  • Managing sectional service plans and drawings, and issuing permits accordingly
  • Assisting the QS/Project Manager with providing relevant information for records and claims purposes
  • Managing as-built requirements and contributing to the completion of the site health and safety file

To be successful in this role, you will have a good background in civil engineering schemes, with experience at Section Engineer level, working with the NEC form of contract. You will also have structures and highways experience, and be computer literate, including the use of CAD. A CSCS card in the appropriate discipline and a BSc/HND/HNC qualification are also required. A full UK driving license is essential, and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout our region.
