About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Surgical First Assistant. As a key member of our Operating Department, you will play a vital role in delivering safe and high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Safe Quality Care: Provide safe and effective care to patients during their perioperative phase, ensuring their needs are met and their safety is prioritized.
  • Support and Assist: Assist in the management and organization of care provision within the Operating Department, ensuring seamless delivery of patient care.
  • Contribute to Quality Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement in patient care and outcomes.
  • Develop and Enhance Skills: Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self, ensuring a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Apply Best Evidence-Based Practice: Apply and promote best evidence-based practice within own scope of practice, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain Knowledge of Health and Safety: Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring appropriate measures are taken to ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety.
  • Assemble and Prepare Surgical Equipment: Assemble, check, and prepare the appropriate surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.
