Job Summary
The Surgical Therapies team is driven by a passion for helping patients thrive and nurturing the next generation of surgical specialist clinicians. Our mission is to compassionately address the needs of post-surgical patients, empowering them through therapeutic interventions to optimize function, independence, and well-being.
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Band 6 Specialist Surgical Occupational Therapist. This role is ideal for experienced OTs at Band 6 level or those who demonstrate significant potential at Band 5.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert assessment and rehabilitation services to surgical patients, focusing on cognitive and functional recovery.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Contribute to service development initiatives in areas such as enhanced recovery, post-intensive care rehabilitation, and post-operative delirium management.
- Mentor and supervise rotational Band 5 OTs, fostering their professional growth.
- Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in an acute inpatient setting.
- Demonstrable expertise in surgical patient rehabilitation.
