About the Role

Circle Health Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical First Assistant to join their team in the Theatre department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to work closely with Orthopaedic Consultants and be a senior member of the Theatre Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and high-quality care for patients during their perioperative phase of care.
  • Support and assist in the management and organization of care provision within the Operating Department.
  • Assist in the delivery of patient care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self.
  • Apply and promote best evidence-based practice within own scope of practice.
  • Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act and ensure appropriate measures are taken to ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety.
  • Assemble, check, and prepare surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.
Requirements
  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
  • ILS (Infection Prevention and Control) qualification.
  • Mentorship qualification.
  • Maths and English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including software and systems.
  • Experience of customer care, including interacting with customers in challenging situations.
  • Previous experience working within an acute healthcare environment.
  • Orthopaedic experience.
