The Portland Medical Practice is seeking a skilled Medical Office Administrator to join their team. As a key member of the front desk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.
About the Role
This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic medical practice, where no two days are ever the same. You will be working closely with clinicians, patients, and other staff members to ensure seamless communication and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
To answer the telephone promptly and deal with enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Covering the front reception desk to deal with patients face-to-face, booking, cancelling, and amending appointments using EMIS.
Maintaining a good rapport/relationship between internal and external staff at all times.
Having an overview of the demands and workflow of the Practice during the working day.
Ensuring the waiting area/reception front desk is kept tidy and stocked up with forms and patient information.
Effectively signposting patients to services appropriate to their needs.
Processing and requesting repeat prescriptions through EMIS.
Liaising with Clinicians for patient queries.
Working in a team of receptionists to cover any duties expected of the team.
