Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Transport Services Director to lead and shape the future of our Council's transport services. As a key member of our team, you will provide both operational and strategic direction, ensuring our transport fleet is used efficiently and that our externally commissioned services run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational and strategic direction for the transport service, ensuring efficient use of resources and smooth delivery of externally commissioned services.
  • Develop and manage transport policies that ensure the health, safety, and safeguarding of all travellers.
  • Balance travel demands while keeping an eye on the budget and driving cost reductions as part of a deficit recovery plan.
  • Shaping long-term, sustainable solutions for our transport services, making sure they remain fit for the future.

Requirements
  • A relevant degree and/or professional or management qualification, or equivalent experience is essential.
  • Commissioning, Procurement, Project Delivery for cross department/service transformation or development projects, or Developing and implementing policy and service level agreements in the public or private sector.
