The successful candidate will join our Critical Care clinical pharmacy team, working closely with members of the Critical Care multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and have valued input into daily consultant-led ward rounds.

Clinical specialties seen within the busy general Critical Care unit include Liver and Renal Transplant Medicine, Vascular and General Surgery, Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Toxicology, Gastrointestinal Medicine, Neurology, and Hepatology.

The post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of the clinical pharmacy service in the face of emerging challenges around site capacity and patient flow.

Ideally, candidates should have experience of proactively influencing prescribing within a clinical setting and have gained experience working in a patient-focused environment using their knowledge and skills to improve patient care and promote optimal outcomes from medicines.

The successful candidate must have a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and have completed or have equivalent competence as mapped to the Post Registration Foundation Pharmacist Framework available at:

We offer a competitive salary of £48,788 - £56,747 per annum, plus on-call, weekend, and public holiday commitments. NHS Lothian covers Edinburgh city, East Lothian, Midlothian, and West Lothian, serving a population of 900,000.
