Job Title: Mental Health Consultant for Substance Misuse

Athona Ltd is recruiting a highly skilled Mental Health Consultant for Substance Misuse to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical assessments and reviews of substance misuse clients presenting to our service.

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in addiction psychiatry, working closely with users and carers to empower them in making decisions about their treatment and care.

About the Role:
  • Provide clinical assessments, including psychiatric and physical investigations, of a wide range of substance misusers.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date medical and administrative documentation, including computer records.
  • Conduct phlebotomy tests and support the nursing team in testing for BBVs and vaccinating against Hepatitis A and B.
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings as required.
Key Requirements:
  • Medical Degree and completion of Basic Medical Training.
  • Consultant Psychiatrist on the GMC specialist register with License to Practice.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
  • Good knowledge of addiction psychiatry and relevant legislation.
  • Experience working with substance misuse and mental health issues.

  • A competitive salary of £54,665.60 - £59,000.40 per annum.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, rising by 1 day per year.
