About This Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Community Engagement Director to join our team at Spencer Clarke Group.

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and implementation of community engagement strategies, focusing on community grants, partnerships, and customer service improvement.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Community Grants and Partnerships: Oversee the effective commissioning and implementation of contracts for services within the remit of the role, including VCSE IAG, customer services, and cultural services.
  2. Cross-Borough Partnerships: Engage in partnerships with the community and voluntary sector, including the Strengthening Communities Partnership, and implement action plans for developing a Voluntary Sector Compact.
  3. Customer Improvement Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of a Customer Service Improvement strategy and work programme, ensuring robust contract management and service delivery arrangements support community cohesion and valuing diversity.
  4. Community Safety: Oversee the Community Safety service to meet its statutory and community requirements, delivering key priority outcomes.
  5. Events and Programme Delivery: Support the Kingston 2025 programme of events alongside the Executive Director of Residents & Communities and the Kingston 2025 Programme Director.
Requirements
  • A proven track record in community engagement, partnership development, and customer service improvement.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive commercial approaches and manage resources effectively.
  • Strong relationships with the Voluntary and Community sector, Arts Council, and other key partners.
  • The ability to engage with local, regional, and national agendas to ensure Kingston's voice is heard in shaping strategic policy.
