As a Child-Centred Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing 1:1 support to pupils with Speech and Language difficulties. You will work closely with the school SENCO to create and deliver specialist 1:1 intervention, focusing on developing engagement, rapport and speech and language development. Your key responsibilities will include working predominantly alongside pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, producing interactive sessions to assist pupils with understanding spoken language, speech sound pronunciation, attention and listening skills, and working 1:1 with pupils who have behavioural, emotional, social, and medical needs. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside a qualified Speech and Language Therapist one day a week.
