Responsibilities
As a Court Usher, you will be responsible for:
  • Preparing courts for sitting and closing them at the end of the day.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of courtrooms throughout the day.
  • Preparing documents for judges and processing paperwork.
  • Scanning documents and transferring files.
  • Liaising with members of the judiciary and other court staff.
  • Obtaining names of all parties and completing court records.
  • Swear in witnesses as appropriate.
  • Photocopying documents required by the court.
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the courts.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a good understanding of Microsoft Office. You should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. A background in administration or customer service would be advantageous, but is not essential.
