Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Examinations Support Officer to join our team at Underley Garden School. The successful candidate will be responsible for covering teacher and teaching assistant absence across the school, delivering lessons to students with complex needs, and providing pastoral support where necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality lessons to cover teacher absence, tailoring instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Support students in classes across the school, working closely with teaching staff to ensure seamless coverage.
  • Liaise with teachers to gather information on work set for classes and collect completed assignments, returning them to their respective teachers or subject leads.
  • Manage student behavior, maintaining a safe and inspiring learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants to create a positive atmosphere for all pupils.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A strong understanding of curriculum structures and pedagogy.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing effective collaboration with colleagues and students.
  • Prior experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly autism and learning disabilities.
