The Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Design Manager to lead our design team and drive project success. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commercial mindset, paired with a flair for creative thinking and a proven track record of delivering multiple projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of mechanical and electronic designers, product designers/engineers, and ensure timely delivery of work across multiple projects.
  2. Ensure consistency and excellence across all design work, while fostering creativity and innovation within the team.
  3. Interface with clients to understand their vision, needs, and product goals, working closely with the Account Manager to translate these into actionable plans.
  4. Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure timely delivery, quality, and budget alignment across multiple projects.
  5. Oversee the entire design process according to our 3fD Milestone System.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Product Design Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
  2. 10+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  3. Solid portfolio showcasing technical skills and ability to lead design projects from concept through to production.
  4. Knowledge of electronics to manage electronics designers and product design engineers.
  5. Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering multiple projects on time and within budget.
  6. Proficiency in SolidWorks.
