R&D Leadership Position

Asymchem Labs is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Chemical Engineering to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our process engineering R&D efforts and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct a productive experimental program and engineering calculations and modeling to support process safety, scale-up evaluations, crystallization process development, and process optimization.
- Manage scientific efforts and resources, communicating results and issues within the projects and the organization effectively.
- Develop and implement process safety evaluations and associated engineering calculations, producing process safety assessment reports to ensure safe operation of the manufacturing plant.
- Develop API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) crystallization processes and process scale-up parameters and recommendations, ensuring the solid state characterization meets the specifications and successful scale-up.
- Provide process engineering support for process scale-up of all unit operations at the manufacturing plant, including mixing, heat and mass transfer evaluations, reaction kinetics, distillation, solvent extraction optimization, filtration, and drying evaluation and optimization.
- Coordinate with R&D and operation teams to ensure smooth communications and process engineering support, enhancing the influence of process engineering expertise on process R&D and technology transfer.
- Develop and maintain department quality programs, processes, and procedures that ensure compliance with policies and that the performance and quality of services conform to established standards and agency guidelines.
- Manage and lead people, technological, and financial resources within a sub-region or small country for multiple projects and ongoing work activities of high moderate complexity.
- Bachelor's or above degree in chemical or process engineering.
- 10+ years' experience in process engineering R&D and 5+ years in team management.
- Understanding of the concepts of reaction kinetics, design of experiments, solubility and crystallization, mass transfer, heat transfer, and process safety.
- Experience in managing scientific staff.
- Ability to independently plan, organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Full-time position.
- 8 hour shift.
- Monday to Friday.
