Role Summary:

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Ethics and Sustainability Manager to join our Social Impact & Health team at the John Lewis Partnership. This role will play a key part in accelerating and integrating our Ethics and Sustainability plans across two of the UK's most loved brands, Waitrose and John Lewis.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement high-quality social impact programs across the company, ensuring positive, measurable outcomes for customers, Partners, and communities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including regional managers, store-based community leads, and Customer and Communications teams, to drive social impact engagement and effectively communicate results.
  • Manage charity partnerships, building strong relationships and handling queries, while driving activity to meet fundraising targets.
  • Lead the delivery of programs and partnerships supporting the health and wellbeing of vulnerable customers and communities, including Healthy Happy Home, Community Matters, and FareShare.
  • Oversee quarterly reporting and impact measurement for all activities, as well as annual submission into the Ethics and Sustainability report.
  • Maintain accurate and responsible budget management.
  • Lead a team of 2 direct reports.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification or experience in a relevant subject area.
  • Experience in social impact program delivery across diverse stakeholder groups, with associated impact measurement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management and organizational skills.
  • Proven interest in and appreciation for Ethics and Sustainability, particularly social impact and health.
