The Role

As an Education Welfare Liaison Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring students attend regularly, engage fully, and thrive in their educational journey. This involves working collaboratively with families, external agencies, and school staff to identify barriers to attendance and provide effective support and intervention.

  1. Liaise with families to build trusting relationships and encourage positive engagement with the school.
  2. Work closely with teaching staff and the Senior Leadership Team to develop strategies for student well-being and engagement.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  1. Passionate about education and committed to supporting young people with additional needs.
  2. Experienced in working with children or young people, particularly in an SEN or welfare capacity (desirable but not essential).
  3. Knowledgeable about safeguarding and child protection, with the ability to handle sensitive situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students to overcome barriers to attendance and engagement.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, and external agencies to promote student well-being.
