Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Macroeconomics Analyst to join our team in London. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality macroeconomic analysis in Audit.

  • Assessing and developing economic scenarios for IFRS9 purposes and stress testing regulatory exercises using macroeconomic and econometric models.
  • Enhancing and developing in-house econometric models with an understanding of accreditation for audit use.
  • Producing thought leadership highlighting key trends and risks at sector and business level.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Gathering and updating economic datasets for analysis and estimation.
  • Supporting the enhancement of in-house economic and statistical models.
  • Reperforming model output using model codes developed independently from entity documentation and software packages (R, Python).
  • Supporting the development of new tools for forecasting macroeconomic variables.
  • Writing documentation for quantitative and economic testing in a clear and succinct manner.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience within a macroeconomics team/unit at a professional services company, Central Bank, or Think Tank.
  • Strong understanding of primary sources of global and UK macroeconomic data sources and data providers.
  • Experience in data wrangling and cleaning datasets for time series estimation purposes.
  • Experience using R and Python for estimating time series and structural models.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to explain complex economic concepts in simple terms and apply economic concepts to real-world situations.
Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum
