Foundation Learning Coach

As a Development Worker, you will be responsible for supporting the curriculum manager in progressing groups of young people aged 16-19 from low levels of engagement and achievement. You will also support in identifying and dealing with Safeguarding and Prevent concerns and referrals, liaising internally and externally to provide necessary support to students and staff.
Key duties include driving improved standards in behaviour and attendance by accurately capturing and sharing information about our students, intervening to improve personal, social and learning behaviours, providing effective pastoral support, working with students, parents/carers and teachers to identify issues and implement plans to support students with clear outcomes and deadlines.
Requirements- Awareness of the social and cultural pressures on young people from a range of backgrounds
- Possess strong behaviour management skills
- Experience of using IT in a support or admin role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken)
- Confidence in dealing with emergency situations - behaviour/mental health etc.
Please note that a minimum of 2 years' experience working with young people (age 16-25) from a variety of backgrounds is desirable.
