About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Local Policy Analyst to join our team at Co-operatives UK. As a key member of our Policy Team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing policies that support the growth and development of co-operatives across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Policy Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of policy initiatives and their impact on co-operative growth, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for collaboration with local stakeholders.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with local co-operatives, community groups, and national stakeholders to ensure their voices are heard in the policymaking process.
  3. Policy Development: Work with our Policy Team to develop and implement policies that support co-operative growth, including business case development and programme design.
  4. Knowledge Sharing: Share your expertise and knowledge with colleagues and partners to ensure a cohesive approach to policy development and implementation.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in policy analysis, research, and development, with experience working at a place-based level. You will be able to communicate complex policy information to a wide range of audiences and have excellent organizational skills.

Requirements:

  • Experience in evidence-based policy analysis, research, and development.
  • Ability to understand, communicate, review, and synthesize information generated from quantitative research, data, and evidence.
  • Knowledge of local economic development and diverse business forms such as co-operatives, social enterprise, and third-sector.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
