In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in the Met Office's mission to harness the power of collaboration and innovation. As our Senior Stakeholder Manager - Science & Technology, you will be responsible for forging strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive forward the development of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) partnerships.
About the RoleThe purpose of this position is multifaceted, encompassing the coordination of ML/AI partner activities within AI 4 Everyone, as well as supporting the growth of associated AI and ML skills within the Met Office. This includes leading work packages 1 (exchanges) and 4 (communications) of the Transatlantic Data Science Academy.
- You will collaborate closely with the Head of Science Partnerships and Chief AI Officer to ensure the Met Office's ML/AI partnership activities are effective and coordinated.
- Your expertise in building and maintaining insights on ML/AI partnerships will be crucial in driving research, analysis reports, and briefings.
- You will lead two work packages of the Transatlantic Data Science Academy project: Work Package 1 - identifying collaborative projects, hackathons, and exchanges, and Work Package 4 - Academy Communications.
- This role offers opportunities to undertake or support additional activities that enable the Met Office to build ML/AI partnerships in a coordinated manner.
We seek an exceptional individual with strong stakeholder relationship management skills, including the ability to build trust and maintain mutually beneficial relationships across multiple teams internal and external to the Met Office.
Able to identify, prioritize, and deliver multiple risks and opportunities in complex environments with multiple stakeholders, you will have a good understanding of the strategic objectives of the Met Office and knowledge of its operational, research, and business activities.

- An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 27%
- Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays), rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years, and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave
With a salary of up to £57,639 annually, we offer a competitive compensation package that recognizes your value as a skilled professional.
