Senior Policy Adviser

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Senior Policy Adviser to contribute to our mission of influencing policy makers to ensure that government policies and priorities promote sustainable economic growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop rigorous, evidence-based arguments, policy recommendations, and best practice that respond to CBI member needs and help businesses innovate.
  • Work with members to develop the CBI's policy positions, including managing competing business and commercial interests to produce messages with broad support.
  • Work on discrete projects, using project management skills to track progress, manage risk, and measure success.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with external contacts, including relevant officials within governments, members of parliament, and wider business and nongovernmental stakeholders with an interest in the policy area.
  • Represent the CBI at meetings to influence policy and prepare and deliver presentations.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a policy or related role.
  • Demonstrable interest in politics and public policy.
  • Familiarity with the workings of business and commercial pressures.
