Clinical Specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology

Job Summary:
London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant in General Gastroenterology to join our expanding team at Ealing Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and well-established Gastroenterology department, delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to ongoing service improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical services across North West London Hospitals NHS Trust, working on various hospital sites. This includes delivering outpatient services for patients with gastroenterological disorders, inpatient services for patients with gastroenterological disorders, and inpatient management of some allocated general medical patients. The postholder will also be expected to develop liaison with other centres, including the Royal Free and Hammersmith Hospital.

Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will be a GMC-registered Medical Practitioner with specialist registration or within 6 months of CCT. A broad-based training in gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopic investigation, as well as general professional training in general medicine, is essential. Leadership skills, understanding of clinical governance principles, and evidence of service audit, design, or change management are also desirable. Experience in research methodology in gastroenterology/hepatology or a related field and presentations to learned societies are also desirable.
