Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-to-one wellbeing sessions and therapeutic group work to children and young people, focusing on emotional literacy and emotional regulation.
- Develop and maintain safe and trusting relationships with children and young people, ensuring their emotional needs are met.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide comprehensive support to children and young people, addressing their emotional challenges and promoting their overall wellbeing.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop effective support plans to meet the unique needs of each child or young person.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and issues impacting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people, ensuring your practice remains informed and effective.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and teachers, to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to meeting the needs of children and young people.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive case notes, ensuring the highest standards of record-keeping and confidentiality.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in delivering direct emotional support to children and young people, either one-to-one or in a group setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development, including the role of the family in supporting emotional wellbeing.
- Understanding of emotional challenges and their impact on children and young people's lives.
- Comprehensive understanding of children's safeguarding and confidentiality protocols.
- Ability to work flexibly, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Strong case management skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
