Electrical Systems Specialist

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled and versatile Electrical Systems Specialist to work on a permanent basis with our client in Ayrshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing complex electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards, and providing technical expertise to support the project.
ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities of the Electrical Systems Specialist include:
- Implementing electrical and instrumentation systems for utility, integrator, or automation-driven organisations
- Managing change in an industrial process environment, ensuring compliance with ATEX, DSEAR, and Hazardous Areas regulations
- Providing technical expertise to support project delivery, including oversight of 3rd party Systems Integrators
- Coordinating with E&I and Major project teams to confirm responsibilities under PS/6 and NRO
- Contributing to project schedules, ensuring timely completion of installations, commissioning, and testing
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, providing information and support as required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrable experience in implementing electrical and instrumentation systems for a utility, integrator, or automation-driven organisation
- Experience of Management of Change in an industrial process environment
- Knowledge and training in safe isolation practices and permit to work processes
- Knowledge of ATEX, DSEAR, and Hazardous Areas regulations
- Exposure to IP networking and OT systems, with a willingness and ability to learn new skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and strong written skills
- A full, valid driving license
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and instrumentation systems, with experience in managing complex projects and working with various stakeholders. They will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of industry regulations and standards, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
SalaryThe estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a permanent position, with a competitive benefits package and opportunities for career development.
LocationThis role is based in Ayrshire, with travel required to sites across Scotland. You will need to be able to commute to Ayrshire regularly, with a full, valid driving license.
