Residential Care Worker Job Description

We are recruiting a caring and energetic Residential Care Worker to join our team at Rushyfields Residential and Nursing Home. As a core member of our care team, you will contribute to the delivery of exceptional care services, prioritizing the needs, comfort, and well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Support residents with their personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, while preserving their dignity and autonomy.
  • Engage residents in various activities, hobbies, and social events, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to coordinate care services, manage medications, and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues, addressing concerns, and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control procedures and health and safety guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Health and Social Care or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience working in a residential care setting, preferably with older adults.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Basic understanding of adult safeguarding procedures and whistleblowing policies.
