About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in providing high-quality mental health services in the community. As a key member of our Mental Health Urgent Triage Team, you will work closely with emergency services to provide urgent response to mental health-related 999 calls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage risk in individuals presenting with acute mental health needs
  • Provide urgent response to mental health-related 999 calls using assessment, formulation, and decision-making skills
  • Complete mental health assessments following triage for those presenting with acute mental health needs
  • Strengthen working relationships between agencies on the front line, providing mutual education and sharing insight into available local resources and support
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Nurse compliant with NMC registration
  • Postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience in acute mental health assessment, risk assessment, and multiagency working
  • Evidence of continued CPD in the field of acute mental health, urgent, and crisis care
  • Post-registration experience at Band 6 or above
  • Experience of working autonomously with people in mental health crisis and a risk to self and others
