We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Semester. As an Approved Mental Health Professional, you will play a critical role in providing a high-quality, integrated, and effective service to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out statutory assessments under the Mental Health Act (MHA) 1983, ensuring the least restrictive options are implemented.
- Participate in the Doncaster area Out of Hours 17:00-08:30 (Mon-Fri) AMHP/Adult Making Safe back-up rota.
- Make statutory decisions on behalf of DMBC regarding AMHP responsibilities under the MHA.
- Provide specialized advice to colleagues, managers, and partner agencies on mental health issues and the application of mental health law.
- Lead and implement clinical practice guidelines, standards, and protocols to ensure the highest quality service user experience.
- Undertake joint working with care coordinators on complex cases, particularly where social care needs or the use of mental health legislation is under consideration.
- Maintain and collate accurate clinical records on paper and electronic systems.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures relevant to their area of work.
- Prepare and present written and verbal reports to the First Tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers hearings and applications to Magistrate Court.
- A professional qualification in social work.
- Social Work England registration.
