Palliative Care Team Manager

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Palliative Care Team Manager to join our Community Specialist team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of specialist nurses, providing direct patient care when necessary, and acting as an expert practitioner.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of leadership and management, preferably at Band 6 level in a community nursing setting. They should also possess demonstrable contributions to practice developments in community care/palliative and end-of-life care.
The role requires excellent communication skills, with the ability to exercise critical thinking and present information to various audiences. The successful candidate will also need to analyse data, implement programmes of work, and contribute to service changes.
Main Responsibilities- Manage a team of specialist nurses, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Provide direct patient care, ensuring that patients receive high-quality, evidence-based care.
- Act as an expert practitioner, using advanced communication skills to engage with patients and their families.
- Analyse data and present information to stakeholders, identifying opportunities for improvement in service development.
- Implement programmes of work, leading to service changes and improvements.
The salary for this role is estimated to be around £40,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include a guaranteed interview scheme for applicants who consider themselves to be disabled, flexible working requests, and access to training and development opportunities.
